THE YEAR I WAS BORN-PART II

Now Roll the Presses!

Now that you have done online research on the events that took place the year/date when you were born, and that you have also interviewed friends and family, go over your individual project worksheet and select the information you would like to put together into a two- page autobiographical text.

Here is a a sample extract from an autobiographical  account:

"While Mom hummed along with Sting and 'Every Breath You Take,' my sister Mary tried to introduce me to the Saturday morning delight of 'The Littles' and "Smurfs,'  at least when we could  get Dad away from 'The Dukes of Hazzard.' In fact, I was more interested in chewing on all her dolls and books. That made her mad, but I just got away with it, Mom didn’t  do a thing about it. She said I was 'teething' as though that  made it all right when I destroyed Mary's favorite Barbie.' ...
In the world sad and happy things happened in the year I was born. The USSR shot down a South Korean plane, Flight 007. The United States invaded Grenada after a coup on the island. Karen Carpenter died at the age of 32, just a few months before I was born"...
